Hevy Festival

Kent’s Alternative Music Festival. With just three weeks to go until the UKʼs new alternative music festival tears a small hole in rural Kent, the eagerly anticipated event announces another exclusive appearance – but this time itʼs not a band! Motorbike freestyle trials pioneer Julien Dupont will give a taster of his incredible skills across a specially constructed set-up, built especially for the Hevy Music Festival 2010 by sports titans Red Bull.
Maverick, genius or complete lunatic; the brilliantly eccentric Julien truly is a one-off who has done for motorbikes what Parkour has done for jogging. Julien applies the Parkour philosophy that any obstacle, physical or mental can be conquered by just him and his motorbike. His mantra is ʻfreeride everywhereʼ and it seems there this is nothing this man can’t take on. These days Dupont is now blazing a trail to ʻride the worldʼ as a pioneer of one of the most exciting and daring sports on the planet. Wall ride, slide, backflip…everything and anything is possible. “This guy is insane! You will not believe the things he can do on two wheels! Having Julien perform at Hevyis ridiculously exciting and definitely something not to be missed!” – James Dutton, festival director.
Red Bull will also bring the eight finalists of the Bedroom Jam to complete Hevyʼs line-up for this summerʼshotly anticipated new Festival. “After sixteen weeks of live webcasts beamed straight from the bedrooms of young up and coming bands, this year’s Red Bull Bedroom Jam has recently come to a close and the eight bands joining our line-up are:Sacred Betrayal, You and What Army, This Is Devine, Never Means Maybe, No Mean City, Stand Up Guy, Heights and Hearts Under Fire.”
“Sacred Betrayal topped the competition websiteʼs Buzz Radar chart and have secured themselves a place on the Bedroom Jam festival tour.
The other seven bands have all been chosen by the expert judging panel that includes; lead singer of Fightstar Charlie Simpson, Vice President of Live Nation Andy Copping and Becky Sugden from The Agency.” “Having already played the likes of Download and T in the Park, the bands will be heading to Underage and Sonisphere before hitting our very own Red Bull Bedroom Jam Stage at Hevy for the climax of this summerʼs tour.
Then, one band will go on to win a two week recording session at Red Bullʼs brand new, state of the art studio in London with a top producer as well as a UK wide tour with Kids In Glass Houses!” “With 64 incredible bands, the ultimate thrill rides, insane extreme sports displays from a world famous athlete and one of the UKʼs finest animal parks, the Hevy Music Festival 2010 is almost here and we cannot wait!” – James Dutton & Claire Baker, Hevy co-founders.
