Manchester Christmas Markets

It may be getting chilly outside but if your venturing out I would recommend visiting the Manchester Christmas Markets. Very festive and a top notch atmosphere, the annual markets are a great way to celebrate the season.

Traditional wooden chalets sell an array of gifts, food and drink. You can get a few stocking fillers (whoop) or Christmas decorations while enjoying German Bruckwurst (big arse) hotdogs. If your freezing your butt off why not enjoy a cup of the mulled wine, Gluvein.

Although being bigger than last year and spread over six locations, it can still get very busy, especially at weekends. But this isn’t always a bad thing and to be honest is probably better when its a bit busier.

The biggest market by far is the European Market in front of Manchester Town Hall on Albert Square. Attractions here include a 6m high Weihnactspyramide (a giant German Christmas Pyramid with Nativity scene), which sits on top of the German Beer Tent and a magical Alpine House which is traditionally decorated and houses a giant multilingual talking reindeer!

It is also a great place to buy real ‘Nordic’ Christmas trees and other festive stuffs!

Dont forget to add your own comments and feelings about the markets below.
