Wish You Were Here

DANCING chickens, giant hot dogs and even flying pigs – it might sound crazy but it’s all part of a unique comedy show coming to Chorley Little Theatre.
The performance, called Wish You Were Here featuring the Rex Roman Pink Floyd Show, is based on the book Chapters in the life of Rex Roman.
The book was written by the show’s musical director Simon Ash.
Having spent three years in development, the show has played to audiences in the Thames Valley where it was extremely popular.
Simon said: “One fan told me the best thing in his life was getting married and seeing my show.”
The professional drummer intends to market his show by sending people out on to the streets of Chorley next month dressed as giant hot dogs.
The show centres around Rex Roman, a failed British actor.
When Rex Roman hears that Pink Floyd are reforming for the Live 8 concert he must end his self-imposed exile from Britain and confront the pain of his past.
Simon says it is a tale of love, tears, laughter and a large chicken.
It is a journey through time that reveals a tomato ketchup conspiracy, the identity of a government assassin, and the best kept secret in rock history.
Through the show, Simon asks if the if the entire acting industry is obessed with poultry as it follows the story of one man’s life, influenced by his favourite band…Pink Floyd.
Simon also plays drums for the eight-piece live band in the show.
Tickets are available from Chorley Little Theatre Box Office or Malcolm’s Music Land on Chapel Street in Chorley.
The show is on February 27 – 28. For information call 01257 264362 or visit www.chorleylittletheatre.com.
